Alex Dubon, a tree climber and acting crew supervisor with the Department of Recreation and Parks, was honored with the Bill Mason Award for Outstanding Performance on Thursday, Dec. 12, during the city’s annual awards ceremony.
In receiving the award, Dubon, who has worked for the city for more than two decades, was described as “honest, straightforward and an asset to the city.”
In addition, “Alex answers the call, day or night in all kinds of weather, in response to storm damage, clearing tree obstructions from roads, sidewalks and paths, so that city operations can continue.”
The award is named for the late William “Bill” Mason, who served as an example of outstanding performance and dedicated service to the City of Rockville. The award recognizes a hardworking employee who has demonstrated exceptionally high-quality service, straightforwardness, willingness to go the extra mile and exceptional attendance.
