What You Can Do

Montgomery County also offers a home electrification help desk and grants to replace fossil fuel-fired equipment with efficient, electric appliances like heat pumps and hot water heaters. Learn more at www.montgomerycountymd.gov/DEP/energy/homes/electrify-mc.html

Get started on a home energy assessment. Visit homeenergysavings.pepco.com/residential/energy-assessments for help understanding your home’s energy use and identifying ways to save money.

Switch to green power and power your home with wind or solar, without any special equipment, by choosing a green energy supplier at mdelectricchoice.com

What the City is Doing

LED lighting upgrades are in progress at the Rockville Senior Center and Twinbrook Community Recreation Center using grants from the Maryland Energy Administration’s Maryland Smart Energy Communities program, and rebates from Pepco’s Energy Savings for Business Program.

“The new lighting at TCRC has really improved the user experience for both residents and staff,” said Khali Isreal, supervisor of Twinbrook Community Recreation Center. “We are so happy and proud to be a part of this project that will save the city on electric bills, and help brighten everyone’s day!”
