IMG_8384

ShoWare, the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre’s new online ticketing system, will go live July 1.

Patrons will experience better graphics and find it easier to buy tickets to print at home.

Users will also be able to view their purchasing history, check out an interactive seating map and donate to the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre.

The theater will be closed for events and performances in August and early September while it under-goes several renovation projects:

• Behind the theater, a new surface lot will significantly expand accessible parking options.

• The social hall will be updated to provide enhanced space for meetings and events, as well as a new entryway for those using the rear parking lots.

• The theater’s house will undergo roof reinforcement, allowing more flexibility for advanced lighting and sound technology.

The box office will be open throughout construction, 2-7 p.m., Tuesday-Friday.

Visit www.rockvillemd.gov/theatre to buy tickets and for more information, or call the box office at 240-314-8690.

The theater has two productions scheduled for June and July:

“Do Not Disturb,” presented by the Forgotten Opera Company (the Victorian Lyric Opera Company’s alter ego for producing contemporary works),  8 p.m., Wednesday, June 29.

“Rent,” by Rockville Musical Theatre, will hold eight performances from July 8-24.

Rockville Civic Ballet will hold its yet-to-be-announced summer production at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, July 30, and 2 p.m., Sunday, July 31. Tickets are $17 for adults, $13 for children 12 years old or younger, and $13 for seniors 60 or older.

Subscription packages for 2016-2017 are available for the following shows: “Rent,” July 8-24; “Jake’s Women,” Sept. 23-Oct. 2; “Shrek, the Musical,” Oct. 28-Nov. 13; “The Miracle Worker,” Feb. 3-12; “Book of Days,” May 5-14.
