Find Rockville’s Halloween Haunts in October

Rockville has several fun events in October to let you and your family explore your inner ghouls for Halloween! To register where there’s a course number, visit www.rockvillemd.gov/registration.

Teens, grades 6-10, will experience an evening of fright and fear at Field of Screams, in Olney, for Halloteen, 6-10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12. They’ll be put to the test at four terrifying haunted attractions, including trails, a factory and a hayride. Transportation departs from and returns to Thomas Farm Community Center. Teens will have a fast pass and be accompanied by City of Rockville staff. Register with course #5993. The cost is $60 for residents, $65 for nonresidents.

All ages are welcome at the Croydon Creep at Croydon Creek Nature Center, from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19. Adults and children younger than 2 are free. Kids can come in costume to have fun with a magic show, spooky nature trail, giveaways and crafts. Cost is $5 per child aged 2 and older at the door.

A Peek-A-Boo Halloween will keep your toddlers, ages 1-5, in the Halloween spirit from 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday, Oct. 24 at Lincoln Park Community Center. There will be a mini peek-and-find, crafts, games, snacks and more. Preregister with course #7070. The cost is $5 for residents, $7 for nonresidents.

The Monster Mash Family Dance will host all ages, 7-9 p.m. Friday Oct. 26 at Twinbrook Community Recreation Center. Come in costume. Enjoy pumpkin decorating and Halloween crafts, and dance the night away as the DJ spins musical favorites. Refreshments sold by Twinbrook Elementary School PTA. Cost is $4 per person. The center is at 12920 Twinbrook Parkway.

Thomas Farm Community Center’s all-ages Halloween Haunt from 2-4 p.m. Oct. 27, has Halloween games and crafts, pumpkin painting and the Squeals on Wheels petting zoo. The cost is $4 per person at the door. Children younger than 1 are free. Thomas Farm is located at 700 Fallsgrove Drive.

The Heart of Maryland Chorus presents “A Funky Franky Fable” at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre, 603 Edmonston Drive. This musical’s fabulous, freaky tale of Funky Franky features a costume parade for kids, picture time with some of the show’s finest monsters, M&Ms and trick-or-treating. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children 17 and younger.

Stop by Lincoln Park Community Center’s Trick or Treat from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m. Get some (more) candy and visit the center’s hot chocolate bar at this free drop-in.
