Finding Out About Historic Preservation is as Easy as ABC

May is Preservation Month, and in recognition, the Historic District Commission will host “ABCs of Historic Preservation” at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 30.

The hybrid event will provide members of the community with an overview of historic preservation in Rockville.

Attendees will learn how local historic structures are designated and what designation means for a property, discover the social and economic benefits of historic districts, and meet historic district commissioners.

Attendees can register in advance to participate online at bit.ly/HistoricPreservationABCs. For those attending in person, the meeting will be held in the Mayor and Council chambers.

Preservation Month is an initiative of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The 2024 theme is “People Saving Places,” to shine a spotlight on those who work to save places.
