Peek into Anne Frank’s secret annex life, celebrate a birthday, explore the magical mysteries of Scotland, and enjoy a Halloween fable this month at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre.

This new adaptation brings us into the secret annex where 13-year-old Anne and seven other Jews evade Nazi deportation. With this performance, Anne’s compelling words come alive and urge us to stand up for one another in the face of intolerance, fear and hate. Written by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett. Adapted by Wendy Kesselman. Tickets for adults cost $22; $20 for seniors (62 and older) and students.
“100th Birthday of Leonard Bernstein,” performed by the Rockville Concert Band. 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14.
Celebrate one of America’s iconic composers with musical works by Bernstein and his many talented friends. Highlights will include “Symphonic Dances” from “West Side Story,” “Make Our Garden Grow,” from “Candide,” “A Musical Toast,” “Jerome Robbins Broadway,” and “Fanfare for a Common Man.” No tickets required, but $5 is the suggested donation.
“Brigadoon,” presented by Rockville Musical Theatre. 8 p.m. Oct. 26 and 27 and Nov. 2, 3, 9, and 10; 2 p.m. Nov. 4 and 11.
The mystery and beauty of the Scottish Highlands is the backdrop for Lerner and Loewe’s magical tale about following your heart and the power of love. With music by Frederick Loewe, and book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner. Directed by Laura W. Andruski, with musical direction by Paul Rossen and choreography by Valerie Mikles. Tickets for adults cost $25; $23 for seniors (62 and older) and students.
