Fundraisin’ and Freezin’ for a Reason

A team of officers and civilian staff from the Rockville City Police Department took the Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge on Jan. 31 at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis. The team took a dip in a chilly Chesapeake Bay and collected over $3,400 in donations toward the 19,000 athletes and Unified Sports teammates of Special Olympics Maryland.

RCPD’s annual effort is coordinated by Cpl. Ronnie Crowe, the department’s community services officer. Visit the Rockville City Police Department on Instagram and Facebook for more photos and a video of how Acting Chief Jason West took the plunge in absentia.
