Funds Available for Flood Protection

The City of Rockville’s Flood Mitigation Assistance Program offers matching reimbursement funds to residents and property owners who make flood protection improvements to their properties.

The matching reimbursement funds will provide up to 50% of the total costs of approved mitigation measures, up to $5,000. Funds will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Examples of eligible practices include floodproofing windows, flood-gates, “sandless sandbags,” battery-powered sump pumps, modifying topography, elevating utilities, flood alert systems and flood-resistant building materials.

Residential and commercial properties, including homeowner associations and condominium associations, can apply. Renters can only apply with documentation of approval from the property owner.

For program guidelines, eligibility requirements and to apply, visit www.rockvillemd.gov/floodassistance.
