My wife and I moved to
Rockville while she was pregnant
with our first daughter. She went
to high school at RM and told me
all about Rockville. So, with parenthood
three months away, we
packed up our lives and bought
our first home in Twinbrook.
Overwhelming barely covers it
but Rockville immediately became
home. Neighbors we had just met
brought us meals and mowed our
grass when we brought our baby
home from the hospital. We have
attended multiple Hometown
Holidays, traipsed to the libraries,
and found a local preschool we
love. Eventually, we had our second
daughter and now couldn’t
imagine living anywhere else.
That’s why I want to serve those
I’ve come to know as friends and
neighbors, and why I’m asking for
your vote for City Council.
Public service is my passion.
As a career public servant working
in housing and economic development,
I have traveled from
Puerto Rico to Alaska helping
cities like Rockville create jobs
and opportunities for residents.
Since my family made Rockville
our home, I have also volunteered
on the Executive Committee of
the Twinbrook Community Association,
as Vice-Chair of Rockville
Housing Enterprises, and as a
member of the Boards and Commissions
Task Force.
I will try to combine my personal
and professional experience
to give back to the community
that has given so much to me and
my young family, to make this the
best hometown I can for my kids
and yours. Please vote Hedrick
for Rockville City Council.
Mi esposa y yo nos mudamos a
Rockville mientras estaba embarazada
de nuestra primera hija. Fue a
la escuela secundaria en RM y me
contó todo sobre Rockville. Entonces,
con la paternidad a tres meses
de distancia, empacamos nuestras
vidas y compramos nuestra primera
casa en Twinbrook. Lo abrumador
complica todo, pero Rockville inmediatamente
se convirtió en nuestro
hogar. Los vecinos que acabábamos
de conocer nos trajeron comida y
nos cortaron el césped cuando llevamos
a nuestro bebé a casa desde
el hospital. Asistimos a varias fiestas
navideñas, nos trasladamos a las
bibliotecas y dimos con una escuela
de preescolar que nos encantó. Finalmente,
tuvimos a nuestra segunda
hija y ahora no podría imaginarme
vivir en otro lugar. Es por eso que
quiero servir a aquellos que he llegado
a conocer como amigos y vecinos,
y la razón por la que les pido su
voto para la Concejalía Municipal.
El servicio público es mi pasión.
Mi carrera como funcionario público
se centró en la vivienda y el desarrollo
económico, viajando desde
Puerto Rico a Alaska, ayudando a
ciudades como Rockville a crear empleos
y oportunidades para sus residentes.
Desde que mi familia hizo
de Rockville nuestro hogar, también
participé como voluntario en el
Comité Ejecutivo de la Asociación
de la Comunidad de Twinbrook,
como Vicepresidente de Rockville
Housing Enterprises, y como miembro
del Grupo de Trabajo de Juntas
y Comisiones.
Intentaré combinar mi experiencia
personal y profesional para
retribuir a la comunidad que tanto
me ha brindó a mí y a mi joven
familia, para hacer de esta la mejor
ciudad que pueda para mis hijos y los
suyos. Por favor vote a Hedrick
por el Ayuntamiento de Rockville.
