Gear Up for Bike to Work Day

Not only is riding a bike a cheaper, more environmentally friendly alternative to your daily commute, it’s healthier and fun. Trade your gas pedal for bicycle pedals on Bike to Work Day, from 6:30-9 a.m. Friday, May 18. Or make it a monthlong celebration of Bike Month — see the listings on this page.

The city will host Bike to Work Day pit stops in Rockville Town Square and Fallsgrove. Participants can stop by for a free T-shirt, refreshments, door prizes and inspiration before their ride to work. More information and an interactive map of the locations can be found at www.biketoworkmetrodc.org.

Rockville’s YouTube channel has a series of safety tips for bicyclists. Visit www.youtube.com/cityofrockville and search for “bike safety.”
