Get Set for the Suds & Soles 5K

The Montgomery County Road Runners Club and the City of Rockville are teaming up again to present the Suds & Soles 5K at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 23.

The 5K course on neighborhood roads begins and ends in Town Center with a post-race party featuring live music by Driven to Clarity and the opportunity to sample great beverages from a commemorative mug. The KidZone, for children 9 and under, will feature a kids’ fun run, children’s activities and light refreshments.

Registration for the 5K is $40 for adults, $25 for ages 10-20, and $15 for kids under 10. After May 29, registration increases to $45 (adults), $30 (ages 10-20) and $20 (kids under 10). New this year, teams of 5-7 runners can compete to see which team is the fastest or to just show team spirit. Registration fees, which are in addition to individual registration fees, are $25 for a running club or nonprofit and $100 for a corporate team.

KidZone registration is $10 for ages 5-9. Kids younger than 5 are free, but registration is requested. Parents need not be registered runners, but must accompany children in the KidZone.

Proceeds benefit the Rockville Recreation and Parks Foundation, Inc.’s Rockville Recreation Fund and MCRRC’s youth and beginning running programs. Learn more about the Rockville Recreation Fund at www.rockvillemd.gov/recreation/financialassistance.
