Peerless Indigenous DC ad

A virtual presentation exploring indigenous people in the nation’s capital is December’s offering from the Glenview Mansion and Peerless Rockville Speaker Series.

“Indigenous D.C.” will be held via Zoom at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5. Elizabeth Rule, an assistant professor of critical race, gender and culture studies at American University, will present her Guide to Indigenous DC, a digital map and mobile app featuring sites of importance to Native Americans across the nation’s capital. She will also present her affiliated full-length book, “Indigenous DC: Native Peoples and the Nation’s Capital.” The map, app and book showcase empowering stories of how Washington, D.C., is a place of tribal history, gathering and advocacy with a long, rich history.

This rescheduled presentation was originally scheduled for November. After registering you will be sent a link to the program. Registration is free at peerlessrockville.org/events/indigenous-dc
