Go Behind the Badge with the Citizens Police Academy

Course Includes Firearms Training Simulations

Community members once again this spring have the opportunity to learn what it takes to be a police officer through the Rockville Citizens Police Academy.

Participants 18 and older will learn about all aspects of the police department, receive hands-on training and earn a graduation certificate upon course completion. The Rockville City Police Department is accepting applications for the free, eight- to 10-week course, which will be held in March, April and May at a time and place to be determined. Topics will include:

  • Crime scene processing.
  • Firearms training simulations.
  • K-9 unit demonstrations.
  • Traffic law.
  • Detectives and investigations.
  • Bomb unit.
