Can’t make it to the Rockville Senior Center’s Tuesday and Wednesday food and personal essentials drives? Donations can also be dropped in the large blue bin at the side of the Rockville Senior Center, 9 a.m.-noon, Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.
The Tuesday and Wednesday collections are 9 a.m.-3 p.m. drive-up-and-drop-offs at the senior center, 1150 Carnation Drive, where senior center staff unload items without donors having to leave their cars.
Requested items include pasta, sauce, vegetables, tuna, soup, cereal, oatmeal, rice, beans, cereal bars, granola bars and snacks; and small-size personal care items such as soap, shampoo, deodorant, lotion, toilet paper and homemade masks.
Thanks to the community’s generosity, more than 1,000 meals and 560 bags of shelf-stable food have been bagged and distributed since March 18. The senior center also received donations of 150 masks, and a $1,000 donation from Rockville Seniors, Inc., to the Senior Center’s Program Assistance Fund.
