2023 Climate and Energy Leadership Award

The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments awarded the City of Rockville a 2023 Climate and Energy Leadership Award, recognizing the city’s Flood Resiliency Program as a climate stewardship program that engages and serves the region’s underserved communities and neighborhoods.

In FY 2023, the Mayor and Council appropriated $1.8 million for a new Flood Resiliency Program to plan for and mitigate flood impacts caused by climate change. Learn more about the city’s Flood Mitigation Assistance Program and other relief efforts at www.rockvillemd.gov/flooding.
