Rockville Concert Band presents “Summer Evening of Pops.” 7 p.m. Sunday, July 7

Rockville Musical Theatre presents “Disney’s The Little Mermaid.” 7:30 p.m. July 5, 6, 12 and 13; 2 p.m. July 7 and 14.

Ariel, King Triton’s youngest daughter, wishes to pursue the human Prince Eric in the world above, bargaining with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to trade her tail for legs. Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories and the classic animated film, Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” is a hauntingly beautiful love story for the ages.

Rockville Civic Ballet Presents “Satie Suite” and “The Odyssey” 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 20 and 2 p.m. Sunday, July 21

Two original Rockville City Ballet works in celebration of 50 years of innovation, directed by Eleanor Simpson and Erin Kwong. Tickets cost $17; $13 for children 12 and younger and seniors 60 and older.

Tom’s Elton Tribute. 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14.

The world’s No. 1 Elton John tribute band will play all the hits by Elton John, including “Bennie and the Jets,” “Tiny Dancer,” “Rocket Man,” “Candle in The Wind,” “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me,” “I’m Still Standing,” “Crocodile Rock” and “Your Song.” They will also perform classic album tracks.

Sahara Dance presents “Summer Caravan & Bellydance Evolution: The Jungle Book.” 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24.

Sahara Dance, D.C.’s center for Middle Eastern dance, presents its annual Summer Caravan show combined with Bellydance Evolution’s “The Jungle Book,” a theatrical belly dance production. The production is created and directed by the renowned artist and choreographer Jillina Carlano.

Victorian Lyric Opera Company presents “The Grand Duchess of Gerolstein.” 8 p.m. Aug. 30 and 31; 2 p.m. Sept. 1.

In the fictional duchy of Gerolstein, a young and spirited grand duchess has a keen interest in military matters. She whimsically appoints the handsome but inexperienced soldier, Fritz, as the new general of her army. Despite her infatuation with Fritz, he is already in love with the charming Wanda. The grand duchess’s romantic advances lead to a series of comedic misunderstandings and political machinations.

Presented in semi-staged concert format with full orchestra.
