Keeping the Environment Excellent

2018 Environmental Excellence Award winners.

The Mayor and Council on March 19 honored a Rockville-based company and an educator with Environmental Excellence Awards recommended by the city’s Environment Commission.

NextGen LED, LLC received the award for Outstanding Achievement in Green Building Technology in recognition of their work helping local buildings achieve savings in energy, costs and greenhouse gas emissions.

Melissa Jordan, a teacher at Rockville Presbyterian Cooperative Nursery School for over 22 years, received the award for Outstanding Environmental Education in recognition of her leadership in early childhood environmental education that teaches preschool students an appreciation of the natural world and the importance of lifelong environmental stewardship.
