The Mayor and Council on June 12 honored former Del. Kumar P. Barve and Kenneth Reichard, former assistant to Sen. Benjamin L. Cardin, and presented both with keys to the city and proclamations recognizing their service to Rockville. Barve, who Gov. Wes Moore appointed in April to the state’s Public Service Commission, had represented District 17, including the City of Rockville, in the House of Delegates since 1991. Reichard, a Rockville native and Richard Montgomery High School graduate, retired in April after leading Cardin’s Montgomery County office since 2006.
