Jennifer Kimball James

Jenny Kimball resigned as Rockville’s deputy city manager in late September to become deputy county administrator for Kent County, Michigan.

Her final day with the city was Tuesday, Oct. 13.

Kimball served the city for 16 years, including as acting city manager from December 2011 through October 2012.

“I know that we all wish Jenny much success and happiness as their next Deputy County Administrator,” City Manager Rob DiSpirito wrote in an email to city staff. “We are also highly appreciative of Jenny’s amazing 16 years of hard work and outstanding performance. She has made a real difference for this organization and the Rockville community.”

Recreation and Parks Director Tim Chesnutt will serve as interim deputy city manager until a new permanent appointment is made. Chris Henry, deputy director of recreation and parks, will step temporarily into the role of interim director of recreation and parks.
