Learn How to Apply for Community Development Block Grant Funds

With applications opening soon for grants to help low- and moderate-income households, the City of Rockville will hold two information sessions on how best to apply.

Community Development Block Grants are federal funds provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to local and state governments to support a wide range of community development activities. CDBG funding will become available in fall 2026.

The virtual webinars will be hosted online via Webex to provide more information about the grant application process:

  • 2-3 p.m., Thursday, July 18.
  • 11 a.m.-noon, Monday, Aug. 26.

Find registration information at www.rockvillemd.gov/cdbg. Applications open Wednesday, July 3 and must be completed by Wednesday, Oct. 16.

CDBG provides federal funding for housing and community development programs that benefit low- and moderate-income people. Rockville’s CDBG funding comes through Montgomery County.

Projects can include roofing repair, hot-water heater and window replacements, and kitchen and bathroom renovations, for example.
