Rockville Holiday Drive Continues into Gift-Giving Season

Donations are being accepted for the 2023 Holiday Drive, Rockville’s annual push to help the community’s hundreds of children and families in need during the holiday and gift-giving season.

In what has become an annual tradition, businesses, individuals, civic groups, schools, foundations and the faith community, as well as individuals, contribute time and resources to make the holidays special for the less fortunate in the area.

Last year, for Thanksgiving, the Holiday Drive served 630 Rockville households, including seniors, and 1,200 children and teens in December. This year, the drive will give gift cards and books to children and teens during December.

How to get involved:

  • Send a contribution: Tax-deductible monetary contributions will be used to buy books and gift cards in December. Donations can be made online at www.rockvillemd.gov/holidaydrive. Checks can be made payable to “City of Rockville” (with “Rockville Holiday Drive” in the memo line) and sent to Rockville Holiday Drive Fund, c/o Community Services Division, 111 Maryland Ave., Rockville, MD 20850.
  • Volunteering: Sort and bag books and deliver them to housebound residents. Visit Rockville’s volunteer website to sign up at cityofrockville.galaxydigital.com/need.
  • Donate Books: Drop off new or gently used books at one of the following city buildings: City Hall, Thomas Farm Community Center, Lincoln Park Community Center, Twinbrook Community Center, the Rockville Swim and Fitness Center, or Rockville Senior Center.
