Mayor and Council Approve Brewery and Distillery Operations in Rockville

A zoning ordinance amendment to allow breweries and distilleries in Rockville was discussed at a Monday, Jan. 22 meeting of the Mayor and Council. The ordinance will be presented to the Mayor and Council for adoption at their Feb. 5 meeting.

The breweries and distilleries zoning ordinance amendment allows full production of alcoholic beverages in light and heavy industrial zones and the mixed-use employment zone. Limited production, such as microbreweries and microdistilleries, could take place in mixed-use business, mixed-use transit district, mixed-use corridor district and mixed-use employment district zones.
