Mayor and Council to Continue Budget Work Nov. 9

The Mayor and Council will continue their work on the Fiscal Year 2022 budget with a work session as part of their meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9.

The work session will include a review of the budget calendar and survey and a budget preview from city staff.

The Mayor and Council were scheduled to kick off work on the city’s Fiscal Year 2022 budget with a public hearing on Monday, Oct. 26. Check the Oct. 26 agenda at www.rockvillemd.gov/AgendaCenter for a staff report and video of the discussion.

Rockville’s adopted operating budget for the current fiscal year totals $140.2 million.

The Mayor and Council’s upcoming budget process includes:

  • Monday, Nov. 9: Work session to review the budget calendar and survey and receive a budget preview.
  • Monday, Dec. 7: Discussion of the Mayor and Council’s budget priorities and their survey responses.
  • Additional public hearings and work sessions will be held in 2021. The Mayor and Council are scheduled to adopt the budget in May.
