The Mayor and Council will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16 on a text amendment to the zoning code governing the placement of small-cell antennas in Rockville.
The amendment is in response to recent Federal Communication Commission rulings governing the location and timing for installation of antennas that will accommodate fifth generation — or 5G — wireless coverage throughout the country.
The proposed amendment will allow the city regulatory control over the location and design of small-cell antennas deployed outside of the public right of way, while complying with the recent FCC ruling.
To testify, call 240-314-8280 by 4 p.m. the day of the hearing or by submitting testimony in writing to [email protected] or City Clerk/Director of Council Operations, City Hall, 111 Maryland Ave., Rockville, MD 20850.
