Medicare and African American Health, This Month at the Senior Center

Medicare Coverage Options — What You Need to Know
Mark Gottlieb, president of Gottlieb Insurance Advisory, will help you understand your Medicare options and discuss:

  • Medicare Parts A and B and what’s covered; eligibility and guidelines.
  • Enrollment periods: opportunities for changing plans and late enrollment periods.
  • Medicare Part D, prescription drug coverage: How plans work and how to determine the best plan/cost for you.
  • Medicare supplements and Medigap plans.
  • Medicare Advantage plans: Reasons, advantages and disadvantages of joining, costs, and dual-eligible plans for those on Medicare and Medicaid.

Gottlieb will also address Medicare Savings and the low-income subsidy program, which assists with services and medications.

African American Health Program
The African American Health Program’s mission is to eliminate health disparities and improve the lifespan of African Americans and people of African descent in Montgomery County. AAHP will provide an overview of its senior program.
