Meet Nature Head-On in the New Year at the Hayes Preserve

Updated Trail Map Available Soon

Forest preserve near Croydon Creek Nature Center

Have a New Year’s resolution to walk more? How about the trails in the Hayes Preserve, which feature hikes for all ages and abilities through some of Rockville’s most scenic areas?

An updated trail map will be available from Croydon Creek Nature Center soon. The map details 3 miles of marked trails that feature historic relics, a meandering tributary of Rock Creek and a variety of wildlife.

The preserve is named in memory of John G. Hayes, former superintendent of parks and facilities for the City of Rockville. His contributions to Rockville spanned 30 years and included many special events that are still enjoyed today.

For more information, and to find the trail map, visit www.rockvillemd.gov/croydoncreek. The center is located at 852 Avery Road.
