Metro and Ride On Have New Fares, Service Changes

Increased fares for Metrorail, Metrobus and Ride On took effect June 25.

Metrorail also began new hours and service changes as it transitioned out of its yearlong SafeTrack program and into a regular program of preventive maintenance for safer, more reliable rail service. New Metrorail hours of operation are 5 a.m.-11:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 5 a.m.-1 a.m. Friday; 7 a.m.-1 a.m. Saturday; and 8 a.m.-11 p.m. Sunday.

For Metrorail customers, most fares increased by 10-25 cents. Regular Metrobus fares rose to $2, a 25-cent increase. Trips have been added to bus routes to provide service in key corridors that no longer have late night or early weekend rail service. Ride On fares also increased. Find the new fares at www.montgomerycountymd.gov/dot-transit.
