City of Rockville: What’s Closed and What’s Open, July 4 and 5

In addition to closures of city facilities planned for Thursday, July 4, Rockville City Hall, Glenview Mansion and the Rockville Senior Center will be closed Friday, July 5.

Friday, July 5

On July 5, the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre box office will be open 2-7 p.m.; the Rockville Swim and Fitness Center will open on its regular schedule (see www.rockvillemd.gov/swimcenter for details); and Croydon Creek Nature Center will open on its regular 9 a.m.-5 p.m. schedule. Lincoln Park, Thomas Farm and Twinbrook community centers will be open regular hours on July 5.

Camps will run as scheduled.

Thursday, July 4

The following city facilities will be closed July 4:

  • Lincoln Park, Thomas Farm and Twinbrook community centers.
  • The Rockville Senior Center.
  • Croydon Creek Nature Center.
  • Glenview Mansion.
  • The F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre and its box office. Theater tickets are always available at www.rockvillemd.gov/theatre.

The Rockville Swim and Fitness Center will close at 6 p.m. Find summer hours for individual swim center facilities at www.rockvillemd.gov/swimcenter.

There will be no recycling, yard waste and trash collection on July 4. Collections on a Thursday schedule will be made on Friday, July 5. For more information, visit www.rockvillemd.gov/recycling-trash or call 240-314-8568.

To prepare for the Independence Day celebration, the Rockville Dog Park at Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park will be closed from 7 a.m. Tuesday, July 2 until 11 a.m. Friday, July 5.

The fireworks safety zone, which includes the football fields, tennis courts, playground and parking lots, will be closed from 7 a.m. Wednesday, July 3 through 11 a.m. Friday, July 5. There will be limited access to other parts of the park from Tuesday, July 2 through Friday, July 5.
