New Online Resource Highlights Climate-Friendly Energy Incentives

A new online resource from the city’s Environmental Management Division features incentive programs to help community members play their part in Rockville reaching its Climate Action Plan goals.

The resource highlights the variety of energy, solar, electric vehicle and flood protection incentive programs available from the City of Rockville, Montgomery County, the state of Maryland, the federal government, Pepco and community organizations.

The webpage highlights how to help protect the environment and your wallet when taking on your next home project with links to the Montgomery Energy Connection, Capital Area Solar Switch, Electrify MC, the city’s Flood Mitigation Assistance Program, tax credits and discounts for electric vehicles and chargers, RainScapes Rebates, energy and solar for low- and moderate-income homes, the Montgomery County Green Bank, and federal Inflation Reduction Act tax credits, as well as upcoming rebates from the state for electric appliance and home energy efficiency and from the county for electric leaf blowers.

The Climate Action Plan, adopted by the Mayor and Council in January 2022, sets goals of equitably reducing greenhouse gas emissions that cause climate change and improving community resilience to extreme weather.
