Nominate a Neighbor for a Human Rights Awards

Winners to be Honored at the 51st Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration


The city’s Human Rights Commission is accepting nominations for two awards to be presented at Rockville’s Martin Luther King Jr. celebration on Monday, Jan. 16.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Youth Award will be presented to a student at a Rockville high school who has worked to fulfill King’s dream in either their school or the community.

The F. Michael Taff Award will be presented to an individual, organization or business that has helped to improve the lives of people with disabilities, such as through efforts to improve accessibility or raise public awareness. It is named in honor of the late F. Michael Taff, a dedicated human rights activist and former chair of the Human Rights Commission.

Find and submit nomination forms at www.rockvillemd.gov/mlk. The submission deadline is Monday, Nov. 14.
