Peerless Rockville continues its celebration of 50 years as an award-winning nonprofit dedicated to preserving our city’s history with the following events in October:
“Happy Hour with History,” from 5:30- 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, at the historic Rockville B&O Railroad Station, offers a unique opportunity to tour the elegant old station that is lovingly maintained as offices by its tenants and learn about its history and preservation. Tickets cost $36 and include live music, snacks and tours of the station. A cash bar from Twin Valley Distillery will be available.
“History Treasures Tour,” from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, is a one-of-a-kind self-paced tour featuring open hours, family-friendly activities and hosted visits of city sites not usually open to the public. See a model railroad at the B&O Railroad Station, the inside of renowned psychiatrist Frieda Fromm-Reichmann’s cottage, an old soda fountain and more. Cost is $24 per household.
