Pedal Away the Summer Days

Explore the city by bike, with friends in July.

The Rockville Bicycle Advisory Committee leads casual neighborhood rides of about one hour on Tuesdays throughout the summer. Routes are on paved, shared-use paths, some sidewalks and some short sections of quiet streets. The group rides at the pace of the slowest rider, so no one gets left behind. Rain at the start cancels the ride; wet pavement does not.

Rides meet in the parking lot of Westat, 1600 Research Boulevard, at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, July 11, 18 and 25.

Looking to ride the Rockville Bike Beltway? RBAC will lead a ride on the Carl Henn Millennium Trail, beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday, July 16, at Thomas S. Wootton High School, 2100 Wootton Parkway. Ride the trail with family and friends — or come and make new friends — on this 10.6-mile shared-use path that forms a loop around the center of Rockville. Rain at the start cancels the ride; wet pavement does not.
