Rocktobierfest Returns to Rockville Town Center on Oct. 6

Second Annual Event Celebrates German Culture and Community

Maryland breweries, bratwurst and bands will make for a rollicking Rockville Town Center as Rockville hosts the city’s second annual Rocktobierfest celebration, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6.

The free festival is expected to draw 3,000 visitors and will include two stages of live music, German food, beverages from local breweries in souvenir mugs, kids’ activities and an artisan area.

Entertainment includes traditional German music by the Rockville German Band, Alte Kumpel Band and Alte Kameraden Band; polka by Polkadelphia; the rock and soul of Sweet Leda; and party rock cover tunes by Under the Covers.

Booths for breweries and vendors will be set up along Maryland Avenue, within walking distance of the Rockville Metro station. Participating breweries include Rockville’s 7 Locks Brewing and True Respite Brewing Co., Gaithersburg’s Brawling Bear Brewing, Laytonsville’s Waredaca Brewing Company and Odenton’s Crooked Crab Brewing Co., as well as Gilly’s Craft Beer & Fine Wine, Gordon Biersch and World of Beer.

Free parking is available throughout the downtown area, including at the Council Office Building on Fleet Street, and the City Hall lot on Maryland Avenue.

Paid parking is available in the Rockville Town Square garages, at Hungerford Drive (MD 355) and North Washington Street, for a flat rate of $5.
