Rockville-Pinneberg Relationship to be Formalized

Rockville Mayor Bridget Donnell Newton (left) and Pinneberg Bürgermeisterin Urte Steinberg.

For more than six decades, Pinneberg, Germany, has been a sister city to Rockville. But no official agreement to become municipal relatives appears to have been adopted.

On Nov. 15, the two cities will remedy that by formally signing a sister city agreement at a virtual ceremony, 1 p.m. U.S. and 7 p.m. German time.

The signing will be recorded and broadcast live on Rockville channel 11, livestreamed at www.rockvillemd.gov/Rockville11, and will also be rebroadcast on YouTube at www.youtube.com/cityofrockville.
