Cardholders Get Local Discounts While Helping Nonprofits
The holidays are the perfect time to purchase a Rockville Rewards card and save money while supporting the community.
Cards make great gifts that give back to the community and give cardholders discounts at local businesses during the holidays and throughout the year.
The latest cards went on sale Aug. 1. Through October, sales were up 48 percent compared to August-October 2015.
The Richard Montgomery Athletics booster club (rocketathletics.org) leads the program’s nonprofit partners in fundraising, raising $18,000 since Aug. 1 for the high school’s athletics programs.
Nonprofits sell Rockville Rewards cards and keep 100 percent of the proceeds to support programs such as scholarships, homeless shelters and free medical clinics.
The cards cost $25 and are available at www.rockvillerewards.com or by purchasing directly from a nonprofit partner. They are good for discounts until Aug. 31, 2017 at over 135 businesses.
Launched in 2009, Rockville Rewards is a program of the Rockville Chamber of Commerce, with grant funding from the City of Rockville. The chamber serves members through networking events, business connections and acting as a liaison between businesses and the city. Learn more at www.rockvillechamber.org.
