Rockville Seeks Artists for Two Murals

Rockville is searching for artists to design and create temporary murals for City Hall and the Rockville Senior Center. Two calls for artists have been issued for each project.

The artist eventually chosen for the City Hall project will be asked to create a mural to beautify a cover for an exterior generator that faces Maryland Avenue. The second mural is planned for an exterior wall to the entrance of the Rockville Senior Center’s popular exercise studio and fitness room at 1150 Carnation Drive.

The budget for each project is $12,500. The deadline to apply for both calls for artists is Friday, Jan. 20. Selected finalists will be announced the week of Jan. 23. Installation of both projects is anticipated in summer 2023.

Details about the application, with requirements for submissions, can be found at www.rockvillemd.gov/AIPP. For more information, contact Arts Programs Supervisor Betty Wisda at 240-314-8681 or [email protected].
