Rockville to Launch New Program
Registration System in July

Registering for Rockville’s recreation programs or reserving a facility is going to become a little easier.

In July, the city plans to officially roll out a new online reservation system designed to make it simpler than ever to register for programs or to book a facility for a wedding, a picnic or other occasion.

Users will no longer have to create accounts to register, and will be able to search, register and pay for activities and leagues, view memberships and manage profiles on any computer, tablet or smartphone.

The new system has been a year in the making. The city sought requests for proposals in June 2016. After reviewing those offers, Rockville chose Rec1, based in Alpharetta, Georgia. The company has since been acquired by CivicPlus, a firm providing more than 2,500 local units of government across the nation with online services.

The new online booking will be on the city website at www.rockvillemd.gov. The site will list program details, facilities information with capacities, amenities, maps, scheduled maintenance projects, parking and availability.
