Safety First

The city’s safety and risk, public works, and recreation and parks teams held a ceremony Aug. 9 recognizing Rockville employees for their contributions to promoting safety in city operations.

Miguel Hernandez (pictured left, top), a street maintenance worker with the Department of Public Works for over 25 years, was recognized for prioritizing the safety of co-workers. According to his nomination, “Miguel is the guy that is always looking out for his crew and encouraging everyone to keep safety in the forefront of operations.”

Ethan Dibble receiving a $500 check

Ethan Dibble (pictured left, bottom), a certified tree climber with the Department of Recreation and Parks and a member of the city’s Safety Committee, was recognized because, according to his nomination, “His excellent safety practices set an example to the rest of the Forestry Crew and other crews in the city. Ethan consistently puts the safety of his crew members at the forefront of their work.”

Hernandez and Dibble each received a $500 check in recognition of their awards.
