Jamie Sydykova with her Rising Stars of Safety Award

Jamie Sydykova (pictured at right) was one of 36 professionals honored at the National Safety Council’s Rising Stars of Safety Awards in October during the NSC Safety Conference & Expo in New Orleans.

The awards recognize leaders younger than 40 who promote continuous safety improvement and initiatives focused on measurable outcomes to create safer workplaces. “These 36 safety leaders, representing eight countries and a wide range of industries, are truly the best and brightest in safety,” said Lorraine Martin, president and CEO of the National Safety Council (pictured at left).

Sydykova, a safety specialist with the city’s Department of Human Resources and a board-certified safety professional, is responsible for the day-to-day management of the city’s occupational safety and health and workers’ compensation programs, keeping city employees safe on the job and, if necessary, providing support for injured employees through the workers’ compensation process.
