The Montgomery County H20 Summit in November will offer a deep dive into urban watersheds.
The summit, from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Agricultural History Farm Park, 18400 Muncaster Road, in Derwood, offers an opportunity to learn from experts, connect with neighbors who share a passion for protecting water resources and get inspired to act. The free summit welcomes anyone — from seasoned environmentalists to those merely curious about how to make a difference.
Topics will include:
- Bugging Out!: Explore the county’s biomonitoring program as well as new and established citizen science monitoring programs.
- Watershed Planning: Learn how to provide input for the county’s watershed planning process.
- Stormwater Around the County: Hear highlights of work to reduce stormwater in jurisdictions across the county.
- Urban Watershed Research: Researchers will discuss recent and percolating projects to quench your thirst for knowledge.
Light refreshments will be provided. Bring a reusable cup or mug.
