See Wool Become Yarn
Through Talented Hands

Spinning wheel.

Take a step back in time at the Glenview Mansion Art Gallery this month with “From Sheep to Shawl — How Wool is Spun into Yarn.”

Dedicated and experienced hand-spinners and weavers will demonstrate their spinning arts from 1:30-3:30 p.m., Sunday, March 12, in the Glenview Mansion Conservatory. These artisans have appeared at numerous venues to display their craft, including the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival and Frederick Beerfest.

In addition to fully operational spinning wheels, drop spindles and knitting demonstrations, working Victrola and Edison cylinder players will be on display.

The event is free and open to all ages.

See even more art at the Glenview gallery. Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and 9 a.m.-9 p.m., Thursday. The facility is closed on weekends and official holidays.
