New Speed Cameras Coming to Wootton Parkway

Wootton Parkway

In a continuing effort to reduce the number of speeding vehicles in Rockville neighborhoods, the Rockville City Police Department is deploying a new speed monitoring system in the 2500 block of Wootton Parkway, near its intersection with Fairwood Court.

RCPD is scheduled to begin deployment Monday, Feb. 26. The system uses a portable camera to monitor southbound traffic. While the system is fully functional, citations are not being issued for the first month. Beginning Tuesday, March 26, citations will be issued for vehicles exceeding the posted speed limit by 12 mph or more.
