Staff Presents Stonestreet Corridor Study Draft Recommendations

Staff introduced initial draft recommendations for the Stonestreet Corridor Study at a well-attended community meeting on Feb. 22. Staff discussed recommended policies and implementation steps, key potential redevelopment sites along the corridor and possible street and sidewalk improvements.

Through its community planning process, the study sought to strengthen community relationships by seeking consensus and balance with business owners, tenants and residents along the corridor. The study area generally covers the east and west sides of north and south Stonestreet avenues, from Westmore Road to the north, to where South Stonestreet Avenue dead-ends to the south.

A report of results and draft recommendations are expected to be presented at a Mayor and Council work session on May 21.
