Stonestreet Study Meeting will Focus on Street Improvements

The next community meeting on the Stonestreet Corridor Study, at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 24, will focus on potential street improvements on North Stonestreet Avenue and on Park Road near the Metro station, between its intersections with North Stonestreet and South Stonestreet avenues.

City planning and transportation staff will present options for the community to consider. The meeting will be held at Lincoln Park Community Center, 357 Frederick Ave. Community members are invited to attend.

This will be the third community meeting for the corridor study, which began with a May 2 project kickoff. Community members met July 13 at a second meeting to focus on Montgomery County Public Schools sites located on North Stonestreet. Staff from MCPS discussed operations at those properties and took questions from the audience. Attendees discussed possible alternative land uses in that area, should MCPS relocate.
