The World, Right here in Rockville

International Night brought together a kaleidoscope of colors and culture in April with 17 performances in dance and music from world groups from in and around the Rockville community.

More than 300 performers, vendors and guests filled the theater as emcees from the Rockville City Police Department, Sgt. Javier Baquero and Cpl. Derrick Tibbs, guided attendees on a journey around the globe. Councilmembers Barry Jackson, Izola (Zola) Shaw and Adam Van Grack helped kick off the evening, which included a recognition of newly naturalized U.S. citizens.

International Night is a free annual event that showcases the many cultures represented in the city through dance, poetry, song and other forms of artistic expression. It encourages attendees to engage with and learn about the unique customs and beauty within Rockville’s diversity.
