The Rockville Planning Commission in September approved a draft of the Town Center Master Plan to forward to the Mayor and Council for their final approval.
This advancement marks a major milestone in the process that moves the plan along to its final phase.
The overarching goal of the master plan update is to strengthen Town Center by creating a cohesive vision for the planning area, one that meets the city’s goals and provides a clear path for implementation.
Residents can review the draft document on the Town Center project page.
A public hearing on the plan before the Mayor and Council was anticipated for Oct. 28, after the “Rockville Reports” print deadline. Watch the hearing when it’s posted by clicking the TV icon next to the Oct. 28 meeting listing in the Agenda Center.
Subsequent discussions and evaluations will take place during a Mayor and Council work session scheduled for Monday, Dec. 9, with final adoption expected in January. The meeting’s exact date is yet to be determined.
