Wasilak Appointed Acting CPDS Director

Search for New Director is Ongoing

The City of Rockville is actively looking for a new director to head its Community Planning and Development Services department. In the interim, longtime Chief of Zoning Jim Wasilak has been appointed as CPDS acting director.

Novak Consulting Group has been hired as the recruitment firm to conduct the search.

The position, which would oversee a department of more than 40 people and a budget of close to $6 million, has been posted online at thenovakconsultinggroup.com/rockville-maryland-cpds-director.

According to the listing, the new director will be responsible for overall administration and implementation of the department’s mission, which includes long-range community planning, development review, zoning administration and enforcement, historic preservation, redevelopment coordination, housing programs and building construction codes.
