Winter Weed Warriors Wanted

Rockville’s Weed Warriors are seeking volunteers for winter weed pulls aimed at removing non-native and invasive plants from parkland, woods and open space in our city.

Weed Warrior winter workdays are from 1-3 p.m. on:

  • Sunday, Jan. 9 at Twinbrook Park.
  • Monday, Jan. 17 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day) at Woottons Mill Park.
  • Sunday, Jan. 23 at RedGate Park.
  • Tuesday, Feb. 1 at Dawson Farm Park.
  • Monday, Feb. 21 (Presidents Day) at RedGate Park.

Space is limited. Online registration is required at www.rockvillemd.gov/weedwarriors.

Volunteers work at the direction of a team leader. Student Service Learning credits are available. Volunteers under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Jan. 17 and Jan. 23 workdays are part of the city’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day week of service.
