Rockville Facilities to Close for New Year’s and MLK Day

Recycling and Refuse Collected a Day Later During Holiday Weeks

City Hall and all city facilities will be closed for New Year’s Day on Monday, Jan. 1. City Hall and some facilities will also be closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 15.

Recycling and refuse will be collected one day later throughout those weeks. Learn more at www.rockvillemd.gov/recycling-refuse.

Other city facilities will operate on the following schedule:

  • Croydon Creek Nature Center will open 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 31 and is closed Mondays.
  • Glenview Mansion is closed Mondays, Jan. 1 and 15.
  • The F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre box office is closed Jan. 1 and 15. Tickets are always available at rockvillemd.gov/theatre.
  • Lincoln Park, Thomas Farm and Twinbrook community centers are open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Dec. 31; closed Jan. 1; and open regular hours Jan. 15.
  • The Rockville Senior Center, including the fitness room, is closed Sundays and will be closed 1 and 15.
  • The Rockville Swim and Fitness Center will be open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 31, closed Jan. 1 and open Jan. 15. Visit rockvillemd.gov/swimcenter for lap and program schedules.

Parking fees at city-owned meters will be suspended on Jan. 1 and 15.
