Mayor and Council to Vote
on Naming Bridge for Doran

Wootton High Graduate Petitioned for Honor for Former Principal

The Mayor and Council are scheduled to vote Monday, March 6 on a request to name a bridge on Wootton Parkway for the late Michael J. Doran, Thomas S. Wootton High School’s former principal.

Doran led the school for 12 years before dying suddenly at age 64, two weeks before the start of the 2015-16 school year. Jon Glaser, a Wootton graduate and Rockville resident, requested dedicating the bridge near the school in Doran’s honor.

The city’s Traffic and Transportation Commission voted unanimously Jan. 24 to recommend the name to the Mayor and Council.

Find out more about the naming request when the March 6 meeting agenda is posted at www.rockvillemd.gov/AgendaCenter.
